Gavin's Four Month Check Up

Gavin got a clean bill of health at his four month Well Baby Visit. He is 26.5 inches long which puts him in the 90th percentile for height. He weighs 16 pounds which puts him in the 75th percentile for weight.

He had 5 more shots that he did not enjoy at all!

But now he is sleeping and doing fine.

Gym Time Progression

Gavin started out having a better chance at hitting his toys during gym time when he wasn't looking. Now he can not only look and grab what he wants, he can also grab things with his feet! I know what a little genius! Haha

I have his "gym stages" in order....

BUMBO

A few weeks ago we got a Bumbo seat. A Bumbo seat is an infant positioner that allows Gavinto sit up without help. This was taken in his third month.

Starting my Blog

Hey everyone!

Thank you for checking out our family blog. I wish I started this the night Mike proposed to me, that way I would have our lives "chronicled" from the beginning. Unfortunately I am starting our family blog today. Better late than never, right?

I am back-logging important events with their original dates (some I am cut and pasting from myspace). So just bear with me...... it may be a month or two until I have everything on here.

I plan on updating this every Friday with pictures and soon even videos, so check back often.

And so begins my Internet scrapbook....

Dear Close Friends and Family,

I am napping right now after what I consider a pretty traumatic day. Mommy took me to the pediatrician for my two month check up. The doctor was really nice and even warmed up the stethoscope for me :-) I am 24 inches long which puts me in the 90th percentile! Daddy knew I was going to be a basketball star. The doctor also predicted that I would be mobile faster than most babies, he noticed how strong I am. I weigh 11 lbs 14 oz which is the perfect weight for my gargantuan height. Look... you can tell by my hands that I am going to be as tall as daddy.

Everything was going great at the doctor's, I was smiling my biggest smiles for the kind doctor and even cooing. Then out of nowhere the doctor with the warm smile held me down and stuck me with a needle five times in the thigh!! I screamed and screamed! That sneaky man! He called them my "vaccinations".... I have another name for it. Here is a picture of my battle wounds
After the evil doctor and his needles left the room, mommy held me, rocked me, and fed me. My tears stopped as I concentrated on mommy. I would've totally forgotten everything if Garfield wasn't there to remind me. Now I am sleeping off my very emotional experience.

Now a little update on my family. Daddy got a great new job at Restaurants on the Run (where Mommy and Daddy worked during undergrad and fell in love). Restaurants on the Run is taking their brand national and daddy is in charge of the entire process. This is how my daddy and I spend every evening..
Mommy had to take a semester off from her masters program to take care of me and we spend the day doing really fun things. Yesterday we joined ten other mommy and baby partners and took a long power walk up and down the hills around Mission Viejo Lake, we are going to do that twice a week. We also do gym time which is helping me improve my coordination and muscle strength.

Love,

Gavin Riley Turner
